Brian LaFleur (Drums, Percussion)

Brian LaFleur started playing the drums as a fifth-grader in Connecticut. Later, he studied music at Ithaca College, playing everything from classical to rock to Indonesian gamelan. Brian lived in Brooklyn for several years, and performed with various bands at notable NYC venues such as CBGB, the Continental, and the Mercury Lounge. In the DC area, he has appeared with Loser Leaves Town (alt-country), Phantomweight (post-punk funk), and Steve Young & The Sounds (blues). Brian's drumming is influenced by the classic groove drummers Levon Helm, Charlie Watts, and Al Jackson, and the funky rhythms of Africa, New Orleans, and Brazil.
